Design Ignites Change Notebook Project

The Design Ignites Change Notebook Project allows 25 letterpress designer/printers to combine their creativity and production skills with our paper and selling platform to generate a significant donation to a worthy cause. We’re excited to work with Design Ignites Change and their youth mentoring initiative School: by Design , which asks high school students – in collaboration with their college or professional design mentors – to “redesign your school."
 

School: by Design

School: by Design gives youth in underserved communities a real-world experience using design thinking to communicate their ideas, exhibit their potential and take action in their own lives. Mentoring teams examine the school ecosystem from the student’s vantage point to re-imagine a more sustainable school, one that will improve now and continue to grow and thrive in the future. Not only does the project connect students to a subject they know well, but it helps them understand sustainability in ways that extend beyond simple notions of green design to more meaningful aspects of cultural, social, and economic sustainability.

Will you join us?

In exchange for free LOOP paper, we are asking you to create 50 notebooks that will sell for $10 (plus shipping & handling) in a Design Ignites Change storefront on Felt and Wire Shop. 100% of the proceeds will go to support Design Ignites Change and the School: by Design initiative.

Here’s how it works.

Once you sign up, we’ll send you a Loop swatchbook and sign you up for free samples on mohawkpaperstore.com. E-mail your paper selection to me and we’ll send you one free carton each of Loop text and cover. In exchange for the paper, you’ll send us 50 notebooks of your design. Feel free to reach back into the archives or do something new for this project. It’s up to you. Each notebook must be 6 x 8” trim size with 64 leaves. Binding is up to you. We’ll post the notebooks on a special Design Ignites Change storefront in Felt and Wire Shop . We’ll promote your participation vigorously on blogs, facebook, twitter and through our press partners (and hope you do too).

Deadline for notebooks is August 1.
The Design Ignites Change page will launch September 1.
